I have been in active practice in the Fort Bend,
Southwest Houston, South Texas areas since 1983.
I take an active role and serve on various
medical staff committees in the hospitals, and
have served as chair of, over the years, such
committees as Credentials, Quality Insurance, By
Laws, Medical Executive and Hospital Boards,
including chief of staff of four hospitals. While
all physicians are required by law in the state
of Texas to annually maintain a required number
of continuing educations (CME) hours, mine far
exceed the minimum as I am committed to
excellence in patient care by keeping abreast of
new knowledge in my field. I subscribe to
multiple medical journals and read them regularly
learning of new developments and treatments in
the field of Gastroenterology.

My personal philosophy is to share the knowledge
I have accumulated with my peers as well as the
community. I am on various Speaker Bureaus and I
also take an active role in volunteering my
efforts, knowledge and funds to the Crohn's
Colitis Foundation of America. As such, I have
been the head of the Medical Advisory Committee
for the Houston/Gulf Coast Chapter; served on the
National Governing Board, and have been the Chair
of Patient Education on the national level. I
revised the CCFA brochures on Crohn's Disease and
Ulcerative Colitis, developed a facilitator
training program that was implemented nationally
for support groups and co-edited a nationally
acclaimed book on Inflammatory Bowel disease for
the Foundation (Inflammatory Bowel Disease: A
Guide for Patients and Their Families). I have
interest in all forms of gastrointestinal
diseases including liver disease and Inflammatory
Bowel Disease (Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative
Colitis).

management of diseases and disorders in the
following areas:
